Oncology?

Gynecologic Oncology is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on can-cers of the female reproductive system; this includes ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, and vulval cancer.

Gynecologic Oncology is an expert who is intensively trained in all aspects of wom-en’s cancer care. Though their main area of expertise is performing complex surgical procedures, their role in clinical practice often extends beyond women’s cancer.

Dr. Tanushree Jain

Dr. Tanushree Jain is the First Gynecologic Oncologist in India who received MCh degree in this speciality. This is a super-specialization degree which has been conferred to few select surgeons till date. After receiving her MCh degree in gynecologic oncology from Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai. she re-ceived international training in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeries for gynecological cancers at the pres-tigious Asan Medical Centre, Seoul, South Korea Before coming to Nagpur, she worked as a consultant at some of the major superspeciality hospitals in India including Medanta- the Medicity, Gurgaon and Sahydari Speciality Hospitals, Pune.

She has special expertise in managing Ovarian Cancers with a huge experience in performing complex Cytoreductive Surgeries (CRS). She holds the credit for doing first Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) in whole of the Central India.
